The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has warned of an escalation of opposition action and massive protests during the fall, stating that the opposition’s objective is the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the creation of a caretaker government.
During a conversation with journalists, Berisha said that the opposition will use “all means” against the government and that the protests will intensify in the coming weeks.
“The opposition will use all means against this government. And as you can see, there is no force in the world to stop its overthrow. In a series of cities, the opposition is protesting. These are organized, but they are not as massive as they should be, but they will happen,” Berisha declared.
He described Edi Rama as a “political corpse”, also commenting on the prime minister’s clashes with commentators and protesters on social media.
Berisha also stated that the fall will mark an intensification of the opposition’s political action.
“Autumn will be the autumn of the highest political temperatures. The opposition will be all in on its mission, the swift removal of Edi Rama, the caretaker government for free and fair elections,” he said.
Berisha also mentioned Alex Soros, claiming that his intervention was requested due to the political situation.
“Alex Soros has been called in for emergency. Let’s see what he can do to an unburied corpse. Albanians have finally given their verdict to Edi Rama,” Berisha declared.
