An accident occurred near the village of Vodicë in Poliçan, at a place called “Çesma e Thatë”.
The vehicle, a Toyota Yaris, with license plates AC 173 AI, went off the road on a curve and ended up in a drainage ditch on the side of the road. As a result of the accident, three citizens were injured: Veiz Shermalli, 60 years old, Rabushe Shermalli, 78 years old, and Liljana Shermalli, 58 years old, all three residents of the village of Vodicë, Poliçan municipality.
Top Channel correspondent Bledar Korreshi reports that they were members of the same family and the vehicle was driven by 58-year-old Liljana Shermalli.
They were transported to the Berat Regional Hospital, where they received the necessary treatment, while due to the fractures they sustained, 78-year-old Rabushe Shermalli was transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.
The Road Traffic Sector’s investigation team is carrying out operations at the scene to discover the causes of the accident, which are initially thought to have been the heat of the asphalt, which caused the car to skid while taking a turn./Top Channel
