The police in Korça have taken measures and fined a truck driver who made a wrong overtaking in a segment with limited visibility, on the “Pogradec-Qafë Thanë” road axis.
The police announced that they have identified the driver and have also suspended his driving license for 4 months. Among other measures, the driver also had 10 points removed from his driving license. Regarding the administrative measure, it is learned that he was fined 16,000 lek.
“Reaction of the Korça Local Police Directorate. Regarding a video posted on social networks, in which a truck appears during a wrong overtaking, in a segment with limited visibility, on the “Pogradec-Qafë Thanë” road axis, we inform that the Traffic Police services, as a result of the investigative and procedural actions carried out, identified the driver of the truck, citizen S. Xh., who, based on point 10 of article 141 and point 16 of article 146 of the Road Code, was punished with administrative measures, a fine of 16,000 lek, a 4-month suspension of the driving license and a deduction of 10 points from the driving license.
“The Korça Local Police Directorate thanks and invites citizens and the media to report any case of violation of road traffic rules to the number 112, and guarantees them that the reaction will be immediate and in accordance with the law,” the announcement states.
