An unusual event that could have ended in tragedy occurred on Monday morning in Texas, United States, where a pilot miraculously escaped after his plane crashed onto the roof of a luxury home in the suburban area.
The incident occurred around 6:00 a.m., when the small “Piper J3C-65” aircraft apparently lost control of the private Covey Trails airstrip and crashed into the roof of the apartment.
The homeowner, who was in bed at the time, said he heard a loud bang during the impact, according to A2 CNN. Multiple emergency and fire crews were immediately on the scene. Fire department spokesman Ford Stein said they found the pilot fully conscious but trapped inside the cockpit when they arrived
Due to the fuel leak, firefighters first had to cut off the electrical power to avoid any sparks that could cause an explosion. After securing the area, the pilot was extricated from the cockpit and transported to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital with only minor injuries.
