During the past 9 months, the Minister of Agriculture, Andis Salla, has shown that he prioritizes his own and his family’s benefits, just as he did with land and tenders when he was in the Elbasan Cadastre and Mayor of Cerrik.
Andis Salla’s ministerial position has also created space for the business of his parents, Gëzim and Merita Salla, in the agricultural sector, through their company “Salla” sh.pk, based in the village of Katund i Ri, Elbasan.
The activity of this company is aimed at importing and wholesale and retail trade in pesticides, seeds, seedlings, agricultural machinery and equipment, and chemical fertilizers.
But during its 30 years of activity, the company “Salla” sh.pk, with owner Gëzim Salla and administrator Merita Salla, has not carried out wholesale import activities of pesticides, chemical fertilizers and seedlings, doing retail trade in his village, supplied as “last hand” and with profits of 4-15 thousand new lek per month during 29 years.
Meanwhile, for the years 2023-2025, the parents of Minister Andis Salla have declared businesses with losses of 3-4 million new lekë; balance sheets that they drafted after their son began his duties as Minister of Agriculture.
But the son’s position as Minister of Agriculture created the opportunity for parents Gëzim and Merita Salla to engage in the massive and illegal trade of pesticides, seeds, seedlings and chemical fertilizers, through supply from monopoly companies, whose owners benefit from other abusive favors from the Ministry of Agriculture.
They do not deal with physical cargo, but with mediation between importers and wholesalers and distributors and regional traders in Elbasan and other areas, mainly for chemical fertilizers and pesticides, ensuring large undeclared profits.
Gëzim and Merita Salla are also playing the role of realtor for tenders, auctions, agricultural and livestock financing funds, investment projects, loans for agricultural machinery, granting land concessions and licenses granted by the Ministry of Agriculture.
Spouses Gëzim and Merita Salla will have this business opportunity for illegal profits as long as their son Andis Salla is Minister of Agriculture./ Pamphlet
