For 25 years, Arben had lived and worked far from his birthplace. He had left young, with a small suitcase and the promise that one day he would return for good.
Years passed, and his village home remained only a memory. After a long time, he decided to return without informing anyone.
When he arrived, everything looked different. The yard was overgrown with grass, the walls were damaged, and the old wooden door was barely standing. But something unusual was waiting for him on the door: an old envelope with his name on it.
Inside was a letter his mother had written to him years before, before she passed away. She told him that she was proud of him and that the door of the house would always remain open for him, no matter how far he went.
Arben read the letter several times and could not hold back his tears. At that moment, he realized that exile can change many things, but it cannot erase the roots and memories of his homeland.
This is an emotional story dedicated to all Albanians who live far away, but who have always left a part of their heart in their homeland.
