Rexhep Sinaj, an officer of the Witness Protection Directorate, has given his testimony regarding the incident that occurred a few days ago in detention center no. 313 in Tirana, where he was raped by justice associate Nuredin Dumani.
During his testimony, Sinaj stated that on the morning of August 7, he was going to receive service in sector “C”, on the second floor of the detention center, where as he was climbing the stairs with a bag of food in his hands, he was confronted by Duman.
He then claims that the justice minister hit him with a bucket of water and then punched him.
“…I was holding a bag of food in my hands and, as I was climbing the stairs to the second floor, Nuredin Dumani came out into the hallway and hit me with a bucket of water, soaking me all over. At that moment, the food also fell from my hands. Meanwhile, Dumani also punched me, breaking my nose…”, the officer testified.
Sinaj also indicated that the clashes with Dumani had not started that day, as during his service he had repeatedly faced serious insults from the prisoner towards him and his family.
