Scandal deepens/ The company that Nufi says is producing weapons has only one warehouse worker employed

On April 23 of this year, during an interpellation in Parliament, Defense Minister Ermal Nufi stated that Albania is producing weapons that are being used in conflicts.

“And recently we have the company AAT, Advanced Arms Technology, which produces weapons and these weapons, as I said once again, are today in use in conflicts somewhere. Not fictitious patents,” declared Ermal Nufi.

This statement by the Minister of Defense is a major public fraud. Capital has provided official documents from the Tax Office. The Advanced Arms Technology company has only two employees. These are the administrator, Arjeta Puca, and the warehouseman Serxhio Gj.

These are the only two employees of the company Advanced Arms Technology, which the minister says produces weapons that are already in use in conflicts somewhere. But the problem is not only whether the minister lied to make propaganda and show the government’s peaceful achievements.

In this case, the concern is whether the company Advanced Arms Technology was actually used for international arms trafficking.

This concern is reinforced by the wiretaps published by Arben Ahmetaj in his interview with Çim Peka, where the shareholder of the Advanced Arms Technology company, Ron Yeffet, talks about importing weapons and ammunition from Sudan and their packaging in Albania.

The government, which in this case is compromised due to public deception, cannot provide impartial transparency to clarify whether or not AAT is involved in international arms trafficking.

Therefore, it is up to the prosecution authorities to summon the Minister of Defense and seize the documentation at customs to verify whether the company has imported or exported weapons or ammunition. But one thing is certain. Arjeta Puca and the warehouseman Serxhio Gj. can neither produce nor package weapons.

This is a case where citizens should hope that the Minister of Defense lied. On the contrary, if Advanced Arms Technology has indeed traded weapons outside Albania, the strong suspicion is that the Albanian government may be involved in international arms trafficking. /Kapitali.al
