Kosovar model Ziza Pajaziti, who on June 12 and 13, 2025, appears to have entered the premises of the high-security prison of Drenova in Korça, has witnessed all the dynamics that have brought about her entry into prison, with the aim of holding a meeting with the life-sentenced prisoner, Laert Haxhiu.
Pajaziti’s question was made to the Korça Prosecutor’s Office, which has been following the investigative case against a prison guard, Perent Lëng, and the former chief of the Drenova Prison Police, Sokol Koçelli.
During the investigation of this criminal file, the prosecution was unable to obtain the full video footage, as, according to a “Reply” letter from the prison directorate, the video materials from June 12 and 13, 2025 were not found on the computer server, as they are only stored within a 7-day period and are then automatically deleted.
Unable to uncover the entire dynamic through security cameras, the Korça Prosecution has focused on taking the testimony of some of the prison guards, as well as questioning the main protagonists themselves, Laert Haxhiu, Vladimir Kurti and the Kosovar model, Ziza Pajaziti.
In her statement given to the prosecution, Ziza Pajaziti testified that:
“…I am currently employed by “Well Farmaci”, in the position of marketing manager in the city of Pristina, Kosovo. This is my second job, as my main job is modeling. Regarding the event for which I have presented myself and am giving my explanations, namely the meetings I had with the convict Laert Haxhiu on June 12, 2025 and June 13, 2025, on Thursday and Friday, I want to clarify that I and Laert Haxhiu have had a stable cohabitation relationship. We have formalized this relationship with documents, specifically with the Cohabitation Agreement, concluded before the notary Bledar Zake on October 6, 2025. On June 12, 2025, I went to meet my cohabitant in the Drenova prison. After presenting myself at the entrance, at the checkpoint, they asked me who I would meet and I gave the name of my cohabitant, Laert Haxhiu. After that, they provided me with a small sheet of paper, which I did not read to see what it contained. I left my personal belongings in the security safes and then continued towards a building inside the prison, where I was subjected to a personal search…”.
Further, Ziza Pajaziti testified that he continued towards the meeting room, passing through a corridor, the location of which he did not remember exactly.
“…there I was accompanied by a police officer and, later, my cohabitant, Laert Haxhiu, was also accompanied to the same room, with whom I had a normal family meeting. That day I stayed in the city of Korça and the next day, on June 13, 2025, I went back to the Drenova prison. I followed the same procedure that I explained above and, this time, at the checkpoint I gave the name of Laert Haxhiu. I did not know any other name of any convicted person and I want to emphasize that I am completely sure that I did not give any other name than the name of Laert Haxhiu. I do not know what mistake could have happened, as I later read in the media. Then I continued the search procedure and entered the meeting room, where this time I was also accompanied to a room with a table and chairs, where we had a normal meeting and not a special meeting, as was written in the media, which surprised me a lot. After staying for a while, which I do not remember “I left the premises of Drenova Prison and left…” – Ziza Pajaziti told the prosecutor.
The Kosovar model testified that she no longer went to meet Laerti in prison, due to the publicity this case received and due to the severe psychological state she experienced as a result of the public exposure of her private life.
Meanwhile, regarding this case, following the investigative actions, the person sentenced to life imprisonment, Laert Haxhiu, was specifically questioned, in the capacity of the person who provides useful circumstances for the criminal offense, and, among other things, stated that:
“…regarding the circumstances of how Ziza Pajaziti entered to meet me, I know nothing about the procedures followed by the prison administration in such cases. To my knowledge, this citizen, on the dates you are asking me about, entered normally, just like any other citizen who holds meetings with family members. No prison employee contacted me in advance, but I was only accompanied on these two dates to hold the meeting. I want to clarify that, on both of these dates, I entered the meeting, after being informed that I had a meeting and was accompanied for its holding. In both of these cases, the meetings held by me were ordinary meetings, i.e. in a room with a table and chairs, and not special meetings, i.e. meetings planned for spouses or cohabitants. I do not remember whether the rooms were equipped with cameras or not, as I remember that at that time the rooms were being reconstructed, specifically being painted…”.
Further, Haxhiu claimed that: “…I want to emphasize that everything has been ordinary and I have only had normal meetings with Ziza Pajaziti, who is currently my cohabitant, with a regular notarial declaration, and with whom I have had an early relationship of acquaintance and cohabitation…”.
In connection with this scandal, the convicted Vladimir Kurti was also questioned, and he claimed that:
“…I do not know the Kosovar model Ziza Pajaziti and I have not met with this citizen. Also, I have not requested a meeting with her. I declare that I have not held family meetings for about 4 months…”. /By Elton Qyno – Syri.net
