Prime Minister Edi Rama recently revealed in an interview when he will step down from power and governance.
Recently, in an interview, Rama stated that his goal in governing is not to become “king” or to remain in power indefinitely.
He said that if he is still in this position, it is because of the negotiations with the European Union. During the interview, Rama said that the moment Albania joins the EU, “Albanians will get rid of him.”
“I am not here to become king or to stay forever. I am here only because I see the open door of the European Union. The moment that, with the help of God and the Albanians, I cross the threshold of that door, you will be saved from me,” Rama said in the interview.
Before winning his fourth term in office, Rama stated that there were only two ways he could leave the office of Prime Minister: the vote of the citizens and when he himself decided to withdraw politically.
Meanwhile, today, after more than a year, he says that the only way for him to leave is EU membership.
But the question arises: What if Albania does not enter the European Union, will we have to endure Rama for the rest of our lives?
