Public Administration will have a separate ministry next week. Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced the creation of the institution, signaling that its leadership will be entrusted to Adea Pirdeni, currently the Minister of State for Public Administration.
Rama argued this change with the importance that the administration has taken on in the government’s work and in Albania’s European integration process.
“We will create the Ministry of Public Administration next week, precisely because the topic of public administration is now a very central topic of the government’s work,” he declared.
According to the Prime Minister, the new institution will enable the expansion of responsibilities and objectives for the modernization of the administration. He referred to the model of similar ministries operating in other European countries.
Rama said that the goal is to expand the field of activity of this institution, linking the strengthening of the administration with the building of a state that meets European standards.
Regarding the leadership of the new ministry, the Prime Minister gave a clear signal in favor of Pirden. He stated that only the current Minister of State for Public Administration can take on this responsibility.
