Albanians from Kosovo who lost their lives in an accident in Germany are identified.
It concerns two sisters, Erza Zubaku, 24 years old, and Aulona Zubaku, 18 years old.
German police have also provided details about the fatal collision on the A5 motorway.
German authorities say two accidents were reported at the same location, with the first accident occurring shortly after 11:30 a.m. near the Renchtal rest area.
The story becomes even more touching because four of the five vehicles involved were not injured, but the two girls traveling in a Smart vehicle died at the scene due to serious injuries.
Police said: “The two girls died in a serious accident on the A5 motorway near Appenweier, heading towards Karlsruhe, on Saturday. Their car collided with vehicles that had to brake immediately due to a separate accident, police announced.
The initial collision was caused by two cars near the Renchtal rest area. Braking maneuvers by the following vehicles then led to the subsequent collision of five cars.
While the other people involved escaped injury, the two girls, who were in a Smart car, died at the scene.”
The initial suspicions of investigators are that the cause of the collision may have been a maneuver during a lane change.
Due to the collision, five vehicles moving behind them failed to brake in time, causing another chain accident.
