Businessman and publisher Bashkim Ulaj has surrounded the construction site where he is building the ‘Blu Borgo’ resort in Velipojë with barbed wire.
The land is claimed by the residents of the village of Rrjoll, who have protested dozens of times since February of this year when the investment began.
The footage you are seeing on screen was filmed by residents denouncing the illegal siege.
To oppose this unexpected development, they have announced a national protest on Saturday, June 13th at 11:00 AM in Rrjoll.
This comes at a time when in Zvërnec, the barbed wire fence was removed after a protester was raped by a private police force not contracted by investors, while the lack of reaction of the State Police during the residents’ protest led to dismissals and the launch of investigations.
