The Border Police has blocked 8 watercraft in Ksamil for verification, as part of increased controls following the serious incident that occurred the day before.
According to sources, it is suspected that these watercraft have a motor power greater than the permitted norm. For this reason, each of them will be subject to technical and legal verifications by the Border Police. If violations are found, measures are expected to be taken against the owners of the vehicles.
The action comes after the tragic accident in the waters of Ksamil, where a 22-year-old man collided with a Border Police vehicle and lost his life on the spot. Meanwhile, the watercraft in which the young man was traveling has been pulled from the water and is expected to undergo an expert examination to clarify the full dynamics of the event.
The verifications will determine whether the blocked vessels meet the technical and legal criteria for sea traffic, as well as whether maritime safety rules have been respected.
The Border Police are expected to continue checks in coastal areas, especially during the tourist season, where the use of watercraft is higher and requires stricter supervision.
