New details have emerged regarding the police operation conducted overnight in Ksamil, to capture a wanted person.
It is reported that 34-year-old Elvis Koçi, alias Elvis Çaushllari, known as “Vis Korçari” from Elbasan, has been arrested. It is learned that officers from Tirana were following him and spotted him yesterday in Ksamil.
At around 10:30 p.m., an operation was organized to capture him, in cooperation with civilian agents from the Saranda crime sector.
As soon as he spotted the police forces, Çaushllari performed dangerous maneuvers, crashing into two civilian police vehicles and managed to escape. A pursuit immediately began and FNSH forces also set out from Saranda.
After 30 minutes, Çaushllari was spotted by Saranda crime agents near a private business on the Ksamil-Butrint road. His vehicle, which turned out to be in his brother’s name, was also seized.
The reason for Çaushllari’s detention is not yet known, but unconfirmed sources still indicate that he was wanted after a conviction by the Criminal Court of Kosovo. Çaushllari is known as a person involved in the Elbasan gang clashes and has a serious criminal record.
He was arrested in 2022 by SPAK as part of the “Golden Bullet” operation, but was released a year later. Previous investigations have also revealed his animosity with Suel Çela’s group in Elbasan, and he even escaped an assassination attempt in 2020.
