The serious incident of the disappearance of 34-year-old Eglant Koçi continues to remain one of the most followed issues of recent days.

After six days without any contact with the young man, Eglant Koç’s brother broke his silence in an interview with journalist Report TV.

While police have announced a search for 41-year-old Armand Shakaj and arrested a suspected accomplice, Eglanti’s family is shocked by the recent developments, claiming that the suspect has been known to them for years.

“I don’t want to believe that he is the perpetrator,” the 34-year-old’s brother says during a phone conversation.

According to him, the relationship between the family and the wanted person was close.

“That boy calls my mom ‘mother’. My mom worked as a cleaner at his bar,” Eglanti’s brother declares.

Asked if there were any conflicts between his brother and Armand Shakaj, he categorically denies such a thing.

“He was with us two days ago, what conflict? He invited him to have coffee at his place and then I don’t know,” he confesses.

Eglant’s brother says the family had no suspicions or information about possible problems between them.

“What suspicion? I had no way to put my finger on it. We have no problems, no embarrassment,” he says.

He also denies that the family had any knowledge of large sums of money or cryptocurrency activity, a lead that is being verified by the investigative group.

“No, what are you saying? The four of us live in one room and one bathroom. My brother worked in a warehouse and earned 20-30 thousand lek,” he declares.

According to information released by the police, Eglant Koçi has been missing since June 4. Investigations have led to the identification of a suspect, while a 25-year-old man suspected of supporting the perpetrator has been arrested. Vehicles and material evidence have also been seized and are being analyzed by experts.

Police sources have reported that Eglant Koçi was last seen on June 4, while authorities are continuing intensive searches to find him and fully unravel the incident.
