Well-known moderator, Enxhi Nasufi, has publicly responded to Prime Minister Edi Rama after the latter’s continued attacks due to the fact that they have risen massively in protest against his government.
In an open letter, she writes that Prime Minister Rama is not just mocking a few social media profiles, but citizens who keep the country going every day. She talks about the sacrifices she has had to make, like every young person in the country, who face economic uncertainty and stratospheric prices.
The moderator states that young people cannot afford to buy a house due to high prices and that they are reluctant to start a family due to economic insecurity and lack of security in the future.
“An entire generation of young people is unable to buy a house in their own country. An entire generation is postponing starting a family and having children due to economic insecurity, lack of security for the future, and the stratospheric prices of living and housing in Albania,” she writes.
Nasufi reminds the prime minister that in a democracy, power is not anyone’s private property, but a temporary mandate that emanates from the citizens.
Then, he addresses him, saying that “from the position of prime minister, it is easy to be ironic. It is more difficult to listen.”
