The Commission of Legal and Social Sciences at the Academy of Sciences honors the memory of pedagogue Luan Pirdeni, who passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2026. He was riding his bicycle in the “Bardhyl Street” area when he was hit by a motorcycle.
The collision was severe and Minister Adea Pirdeni’s father remained under the care of doctors for several hours, until he passed away that afternoon, at the age of 87.
Dr. Luan Pirdeni, completed his higher education at the University of Tirana, where he graduated in Mathematics in 1968. Later, he also studied Law at this University. He completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Paris 7-France, where he graduated in Advanced Studies in Formal Logic.
After returning to his homeland, he defended his scientific degree “Doctor of Science” and continued teaching the subject of Formal Logic at the University of Tirana, in several of its branches, especially in Law, Philosophy-Sociology, Political Science, Literature, etc.
He was a research associate at the Department of Philosophy-Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences, as well as at the Faculty of Law of the University of Tirana. Luan Pirdeni is the author of several scientific papers, the most notable of which is the work “Introduction to Logic”, which serves as a textbook for all students taking this course.
