A 27-year-old Albanian man is in critical condition at the Son Espases hospital in Palma, Spain, after a serious accident that occurred on June 15 on the island of Mallorca.
The incident took place in the popular tourist area of Caló des Moro, in the municipality of Santanyí, where the young man fell from a height of about 5 to 7 meters, onto rocky terrain. As a result of the fall, he suffered serious spinal injuries and was transported by emergency helicopter to hospital.
According to family members, the 27-year-old is in the intensive care unit and is undergoing life-support treatments. Doctors have begun gradually reducing his medication to see if he can wake up and respond. So far, some mild signs of response have been observed, including opening his eyes.
His condition still remains critical, but if the young man manages to wake up and breathe on his own, a breathing aid may be placed, with the hope that in the future he will regain some basic functions such as speaking and feeding.
The family has also opened a GoFundMe for anyone who is able and willing to contribute to the speedy recovery of Ardi, the injured Albanian.
