If we refer to the investigative file that deals with the raid on a prostitution ring with Latin girls in Elbasan, it sounds quite ironic how the prostitution ring was discovered. No more, no less, they were denounced by a client.
The person in question had paid the Latin American girls but had not received the promised or agreed-upon sexual services. For this reason, he reported them to the police. The Albanian citizen even said that one of the girls threatened him with a knife.
‘The General Patrol of the Elbasan Commissariat received a notification that a citizen needed help. When they went to the scene, they contacted AT. This citizen reported that he had given 40 thousand old lek to two foreign citizens, but did not receive the promised services and one of them threatened him with a knife. The general patrol then went to the apartment and found two Colombian citizens and a Moroccan,’ the investigative file states.
So, according to the investigative file, the basis of prostitution by foreign girls was discovered only through this accidental event, as otherwise the girls could have continued with their work.
The Albanian citizen with the initials AT claimed that he had found the girls’ profiles on online escort sites. Those profiles were verified by the police and resulted in their photos.
The girl interviewed by us, in her statements at the Elbasan police station, gave another version of the event. She told how she met citizen AT and why she refused to have sexual relations with him.
I met citizen AT by chance on the street. I gave him my phone number and we talked on video, where we agreed to pay 50 euros for sexual intercourse. He came with a friend of his to the apartment, despite this I waited for him. I took him into the room. He started to undress, but I did not undress because he smelled bad and I did not like it. I refused. I asked my friend for help and we took him out. He got angry that I refused and did not make any payment and notified the police.

However, in the interview for Inside Story, the girl gives a completely different version of the story. She claims that her statements to the police are not true. She claims that the police wrote whatever they wanted, since there was no translator. This is a very serious accusation that requires verification by law enforcement agencies…
‘When the police arrested me, I had no lawyer, no translator. Those letters could have said anything and I signed my statement under pressure. I didn’t know what they had written,’ the escort said.
‘When they arrested me, I had fled the place where I was staying. I was very tired and couldn’t cope with this kind of life with so much sexual exploitation because we were waiting for all the men who brought us. I got tired of this kind of life and together with a friend of mine we decided to leave and we managed to get our own apartment. Someone who owned a coffee bar helped us a lot. One beautiful day a young man came to our door. He wanted to enter the apartment, but we refused to let him in and we turned him away. Then he came back with the police and they arrested us,’ the escort said.
If we refer to the investigative file, another testimony of the girl is cited. It says that she also had a disagreement with her tutor. A woman from Peru who was in charge of organizing the activity, finding clients, etc. The file states that there was a disagreement between the girl and the tutor about the division of profits.
‘The Peruvian citizen Makarane instructed and informed them about the work part, but she is used to working and paying 25% of the profit. She did not like that the citizen Makarane asked for 50% of the profit, so she decided to go out and work individually’ the investigative file
‘They agree, the tutor and the escort, they agree on the division of money by %. They agree from the moment they arrive and usually the percentage is 50-50’ Suada Pucesta, lawyer, was quoted as saying
The Latin American girl interviewed by Inside Story tells of large cash flows. If we refer to her testimony, the work never ended. She waited on a large number of clients day and night.
‘I don’t know how many clients we might have had, because many times we were sleeping. They would wake me up, someone would come in, someone else would come out, but there were many all day long,’ the escort said.
Despite the profits, the girl’s adventure in Albania turned out to be quite negative. She spent several months in prison on charges of practicing prostitution. She now hopes to return to her homeland as soon as possible, as she will leave this life. Or, at least, that’s what she says…
‘Prison? 7 months and two weeks.
I just want to go back on my decision. To be close to my family and continue studying. These are my plans for the future’ said the escort.
‘It’s not that they have shown remorse for the crime, but they only ask to leave Albania as soon as possible and return to their families’ said Suada Pucesta, lawyer./Top Channel
