Prime Minister Edi Rama has expressed his condolences for the loss of former volleyball player and legendary coach of the “Dinamo” team and the Albanian National Team, Kreshnik Tartari.

In a message published on social networks, Rama described him as an irreplaceable figure of Albanian sports, describing him as a champion and coach who brought pride to Albania in the European volleyball arena.

Tartari, born on July 21, 1943 in Tirana, passed away at the age of 83. He dedicated over five decades to the sport, developing an extraordinary career with more than 2,000 official matches. As a player, coach and sports director, he left his mark on the history of Albanian volleyball, becoming one of the most emblematic figures of this sport.

“Farewell my dear friend. Rest in peace, Kreshnik Tartari, legend of Albanian sports, champion and producer of champions who proudly challenged Europe in women’s volleyball, when Europe was another planet,” Rama writes.
