The high flow of movement at the Kapshtica Border Crossing Point has led to long queues and delays for travelers crossing into Greece.
At the Krystallopigi border crossing, opposite Kapshtica, vehicle columns exceeding two kilometers have formed, while travelers are forced to wait more than an hour to complete crossing procedures.
According to information from the field, the Greek Border Police is working with reduced counters, while the process has also been slowed down by the implementation of the new control system, which includes taking fingerprints and taking a facial photo for each traveler.
The situation has raised concerns on the eve of the summer tourist season, when a further increase in the flow at the border points between Albania and Greece is expected.
