Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted immediately after reading activist Dritan Goxhaj’s 5 demands made by protesters at today’s rally.
Through a video showing Goxhaj’s posts with pro-Iranian views, Rama writes: “As the happy-go-lucky Migrian pigs of the “intellectual” segment of the protest said, Iran has nothing to do with it…?”
Don’t forget what I told you from the beginning: Two winners will emerge when this protest loses all its fake flamingo feathers, the Socialist Party, which will become stronger, and our governance, which will improve significantly.
At the end of it, the prime minister writes that Goxhaj is nothing more than a spokesman for Iran’s interests.
Requests read by Goxhaj:
Protest Coordination Group
On behalf of the Protest Coordination Group, having listened to the sovereign’s proposals for 22 consecutive days, we are coming before you today with this political statement to clarify to the protesters, as well as all our compatriots, whether those physically present in the square or those who support us with heart and mind, that this nationwide and peaceful protest demands the following:
The non-negotiable resignation of the Prime Minister and the government.
The creation of a transitional, non-partisan technical government with a 12-month mandate.
Constitutional amendments, where all Albanian citizens are equal before the law, as well as its approval by popular referendum, including, among others:
Amendment of the Electoral Code;
Amendment of the law on the financing of political parties and various organizations;
Limiting the exercise of the Prime Minister’s office to no more than two mandates, full or partial, during the entire political life of an individual.
In parallel, we demand:
Cancellation of the changes made to the law on “Protected Areas”;
Cancellation of the changes made to the law on “Cultural Heritage”;
Repeal of the legal package known as the “Mountains Package”;
Repeal of the status and legal framework for “Strategic Investments”.
The new social contract between citizens and the state will be drafted after consultation with intellectuals, technical experts and non-partisan citizens, proposed by the protest square.
These are our clear, legitimate and non-negotiable demands, arising from the voice of the citizens and the will of the sovereign. We remain determined on the path of peaceful, democratic and civic protest until their realization.
