In a post on Facebook, Spaho published a photo of a young protester holding a banner with the inscription: “That son of a bitch, nor a Jewish son, was born to take our lands!”
Referring to this photo, the former Democratic Party MP expresses his belief that such protesters are being used by foreign interests and manipulated for purposes that, according to him, are not related to the public interest.
A stance that also coincides with the statements of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who has been claiming for days that the protests are being instigated by external factors and that certain circles in Greece do not view the development of large tourism projects in Albania favorably.
In his reaction, Spaho also focuses on the investors of the Zvërnec project, emphasizing that among them are businessmen from Qatar and the daughter of US President Donald Trump. He sharply criticizes the organizers of the protests, whom he describes as the same individuals who, according to him, supported the burning of opposition mandates in 2019.
“At the forefront of the protest are the same charlatans who in 2019 ran from television studio to television studio to burn the mandates of opposition MPs. According to the minds of the fools, the mandates were burned and from 2019 to this day the country has been without an opposition. This is happening in Tirana,” writes Spaho.
