Protest on the 25th day, Fatos Nano’s former spokesperson reacts, here’s what he says about Rama

Former RTSH director Thoma Gëllçi, through a comment on Facebook, expresses his approval of the concerns raised by FRESSH founder Ilir Zela, who today called for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, after the country was engulfed by massive protests that have entered their 25th day.

“Good luck Ilir! I wrote it,” he says, as he supports Zela’s argument for Rama’s departure.

Thoma Gëllçi served as spokesman for the Government of National Reconciliation, with Prime Minister Bashkim Fino during the period March-June 1997.

With the coming to power of the Socialists, he served as spokesman and head of the information office of the Socialist prime ministers: Prime Minister Fatos Nano in 1997-1998, Prime Minister Meta in 1999-2002, and again Prime Minister Nano in 2002 to 2005.

After the SP left power in 2005, Gëllçi emigrated to the USA, from where he returned to take over the leadership of RTSH in May 2016 and was relieved of his duties after 5 years in May 2021. Martin Leka was appointed in his place.
