Prime Minister Edi Rama has convened this Saturday, June 20, the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group to discuss the European Union integration process and the Zvërnec project.

During his speech, the head of government openly criticized the ongoing citizen protests against this strategic investment. He described the current situation as a cautionary tale, stating that the anger shown is not directed only at him, but at the entire governing majority.

According to Rama, this reaction is just the beginning of what is expected to come next, so he asked that this story be read correctly in order to be prepared.

“Albania became a bird and we were at its head. This was a cautionary tale. Not only for my mandate, but for this governing majority. Anger towards me and the Socialist Party. This story should be read as accurately as possible, to be better prepared for what comes next, because this is just the beginning… We can only do what is done, to understand politics today it is good to step back a little. A long time ago he described the business model of social networks, in a description that he calls the discourse of history. He was not describing a person, but a relationship, a way of dealing with the world and reality.”

After analyzing the model of social networks and the “discourse of history,” where it is important to keep the noise engine running, he clarified that this stance is not a criticism of constructive criticism. The Prime Minister acknowledged that governments improve from contradictions, but underlined that the outright refusal to negotiate is now a global political phenomenon.

“There is no object at all, what matters is that the engine does not turn off and its noise does not cease. This is not a criticism of criticism, on the contrary. Governments improve from criticism and opposition. I and all of you have changed your mind often because of the object of criticism. An anger that fades no longer produces identity. It is typical and concrete, that we do not want to listen, to talk and there are no negotiations. This is not an Albanian phenomenon, it is a global political phenomenon. The urge to overthrow everything is more beautiful than administration.”

Following his speech, Rama made a comparison between the opposition, where you can promise and protect every bird, and the government, where you have to deal with hunters and collect garbage. In closing, he emphasized that the government is the richest source for feeding anger, as it faces budget compromises and is not always poetic.

“In opposition, you look cleaner, more humble to others, while in government you have to compromise, you walk with budgets. In opposition, you change the world with a speech and you are satisfied, while in government you change articles. In opposition, you can promise everything and are not responsible for anything, in government you have to collect the garbage. In opposition, you can protect all the birds, in government you have to deal with the hunters. Government is the richest source for feeding anger, even if the government is perfect, let alone there is no perfect government. The problem is that government is not always poetic.”
