A serious incident occurred this afternoon in Pogradec. It is reported that a conflict between an elderly couple ended in brutal violence against the woman.
According to preliminary information, a brief argument between two spouses escalated into the use of force. During the conflict, an 80-year-old man is suspected of brutally hitting his 78-year-old wife with a wooden stick.
As a result of the violence, the elderly woman suffered serious injuries and was initially transported to the Pogradec Hospital. It is reported that due to her serious condition, the elderly woman will be taken by helicopter to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana for more specialized treatment.
Police services arrived at the scene and escorted the 80-year-old suspected perpetrator to the police station.
