“Sign, or your daughter-in-law will sleep with us”, the threats of the Security Service to prisoners! The girl who challenged the operative

DOVE LUNCH

Continued from the previous issue

Terrified and trembling, he picked up the body and left it on the side of the road so that it could be seen. He took the car and drove home. This was practically a well-known practice. The German army, to save bullets, filled trucks with prisoners and a tube was connected to the muffler and deflated into the body. Death was immediate, silent and “sweet”. SK did not fit in at home. He had entered what the people say was “Tartakuti”. His wife asked him several times, but he justified himself with hard work, etc., nonsense. However, the wife, who suspected that something was up with her husband, went to the Internal Affairs Branch and reported to the operational officer. He, without hesitation, called SK and questioned him. Keeping him in the dungeon, without a court decision. From the examination of the circumstances of the incident, it was confirmed that a floorboard joint had fallen and unfortunately was above the muffler, so the hermetically sealed cabin poisoned the poor man. So, SK turned out to be innocent. So far so good. but it was not good for the Security Officer, who set up a trap for him to make him an accomplice.

– You, SK says, are certainly guilty of the death and concealment of the event, according to Code X, and Y, you will be sentenced to ten years in prison.

– SK almost fainted.

– But, there is one thing, says the security officer, I have the power to close this case, (it was really in his power, because they were Ali and Kadi himself). But you have to choose, either prison or sign as our collaborator and report everything we ask of you. The trap (Charku) was sprung, SK remained inside. He agreed to sign and avoid prison. Thus (the security operative officer) was added another spy “Unintentionally”!

Another trap, the prisoner Remo T. had been punched and kicked for several months, they put him in ice cold water, they kept him tied up in the isolation room, to force him to accept what the operative worker and the investigator asked him. Oh God, how Remu surrendered, because he thought he was completely right. When he thought that because they did not force him to accept, his mind went to him that they would release him. His mind, but no, the devilish mind of the investigator, who after untying Remo from the chair stuck to the concrete floor, grabbed him by the arm and with “Delicateness” brought him closer to the window.

– Look at the tree, – he said, – who has come to visit you. Leaning under the tree, Remua opened her eyes, seeing her friend dressed in a red dress with white dots, like a sorkadhe. (She was young, twenty-two years old). Remua’s tears flowed down her cheeks.

– Choose and take, your bride will sleep here today in our room, mine and the investigator’s, will you sign or not?! Poor Remo, his knees could not hold him and in a hoarse voice he said:

– Yes. The trap worked. Remo was broken. The operational officer and the investigator succeeded in reporting to the head of the Branch that the prisoner Remo willingly and without any coercion admitted the guilt of sabotage…!

The family trap. Typical is the case of Fiqirete Shehu (the Sanxhaktar), after she was kept for months with a helmet on her head (so that she wouldn’t kill herself) and for hundreds of hours by the interrogator, where she was asked to accept the “Tava” that the State Security had prepared for her, she of course did not accept.

With an ace up their sleeve, the investigators presented the family alternative:

– If you don’t agree, we’ll imprison all the rest of the family. Terrified and with blind faith, seeing what she had done to herself, she agreed.

“I agree,” he said, “I’ll say anything, except leave my children alone.”

– Yes, definitely. No worries, you’ll just read what we give you in front of the jury.

The statement that Fiqirete read, with such honesty and purity, caused a great stir in the hall. However, the deserted one not only trembled during the reading but also confused the lines (of course, when she did not write it herself), the accusations she made were completely unbelievable, so much so that Kadriu from the back of the hall, when Fiqirete mentioned her, said:

– Give it, give it, gray like a broken gramophone! Thus the Sigurimi trap worked and was directly reported to Enver as a “dissolution”, with Fiqirete’s will and without imposition. What else could the State Sigurimi do when the prisoner declared with a clear conscience and willingly without imposition, they would certainly take it one hundred percent true.

When I was traveling with Ramiz Alia from Athens to Tirana (he had completed a baj pass with the financial assistance of the Greek Communist Party, KKE), I asked him, among other things:

– How do you explain, comrade Ramiz, that you shot your comrade and fellow traveler, for example, Beqir Balluku?

– Well, when, generations accused him and he admitted in the Plenum that:

– I sabotaged the party line. What do you expect me to say, that you, Beqir, are good and have not made mistakes, etc. etc. And Enver, to make him sink deeper by admitting even the things he had not done, said to him:

– Now we fired you, but the party loves you, where do you think you can work to atone for your sins?

A pure trap from a diplomat because when Beqiri gave his opinion, he would certainly admit some other faults in the introduction and in the conclusion for which the party was putting its hand on its heart! However, it must be admitted that despite the swamp of the Sigurimi, there were also honest elements who did not accept the traps of the security. The novel by the writer Neshat Tozaj, “Thikat”, is unique. A real event but with the filth of the security inside. In those years, two teenagers with a biçak (a small pocket or key knife that folds up), were caught puncturing the tires of embassy cars. An act that was called patriotic. So the event was completely ordinary, but the security called these in its statements as cold weapons, because they were pretty big. The security and the investigator of the case, in order to bring the accusation of sabotage with cold weapons to the end and for both of them to remain in prison, intervened with the criminal expert to declare that it was about the term “Cold Weapons”. However, the laboratory expert, seeing the trap set by the investigator to definitely send the two orderlies to prison, not only refused to change the name from “Bicak” to “Cold Weapons” but also filed a report for pressure against him as an independent specialist. But, in addition to these variants that we mentioned above to definitely convict those they wanted, thus fulfilling their diabolical plan, another type of personal trap of the security existed and was practiced, that of erotic lust. Having unlimited power in exercising pressure and blackmail without discussing torture, they used every sexual opportunity that came to their hand. There have been dozens and hundreds of cases when the operational officer approved artistic groups that would go abroad, took the opportunity to use women for himself and then signed the approval that: She deserves to go abroad because she is… “Clean”. Why did the operational worker who covered the companies with the majority of female employees, if he caught sight of someone (a common thing) take advantage of every opportunity to accuse and then the pressure began. Flagrant is the case of Rukia, a beautiful 17-year-old girl from Malësia e Gjakova, from Tropoja.

An event that has been widely reported in the media, where it is revealed (with facts and names) how the area operative left no stone unturned in his efforts to capture her. The ordeal of torture against an innocent girl (her only fault was that she was young and beautiful), by a pervert (not the only one) endowed with absolute power. But Rukia’s determination, courage and pride triumphed over the state bandit. Due to the discredit that was inflicted on her, the Party and the Security were forced to transfer this bandit to another area. Note, transfer him, not dismiss or expel him from the ranks of the Security. Dile M… (the names and the event are real), lived in a village where, together with her peers, she finished eighth grade school. However, one of her classmates was madly in love with Dile. At the same time, Dile was also being harassed by the local Security worker, for whom Dile had sympathy, while for Nduen he did not. For this reason, she had told Nduen several times that she loved someone else with the intention of marrying him. And this was Zaim, the local Security officer who also had an office in that village. Dileen, thinking and judging that love and marriage came at once, gave everything to Zaim until she became pregnant. After finding out that she was pregnant, Dileen went to Zaim’s office and said:

– Zaim, we made a mistake, I’m pregnant, so we should get married and end this sin according to village custom.

– What do you say, – Zaim (who was used to other women) snapped at her, – go get an abortion and don’t step on my office again or I’ll drag you inside.

– Terrified, seeing the “Beloved’s” arrogance, she goes and locks herself in the house, crying to her mother about the shame she has suffered.

For two days, Zaim disappeared from the village. On the second day, at Dile’s house (his father was in the mountains), three policemen and a Security officer appeared, who, in a GAZ67 jeep, forcibly took Dile and disappeared into the darkness.

-We’ll get it back to my mother soon.

The father returns and goes to the Internal Affairs Branch, where the sexist Zaim was also active, and asks for the chairman, they tell him the chairman is not there, he asks and meets the deputy chairman, demanding an explanation of where his daughter was. (The father was a typical highlander with manliness and character). The deputy chairman tells him:

– Don’t worry, we have him in our hands and are questioning him about a matter. In fact, the Internal Affairs Branch had sent Dilen and locked him up in another city in those secret surveillance and processing houses that the State Security usually had at its disposal.

Furious, without a concrete explanation from the state authorities, the father goes to Zaim’s office and demands an explanation: “What happened to my daughter? With whom, as far as I understand, you even had a relationship until you abandoned the animal”?

Zaim, as if omnipotent, who was thinking he would get rid of him (like the others), retaliates:

– I don’t know your daughter at all, I’ve never met her, that’s why she disappeared from my office and went to demand an account from her lovers like Ndueja.

The father, without saying a word, goes home, takes the rifle and goes to the village bar where, among the villagers, he notices Zaim sipping from a glass (he loved to sit with anyone, with Nduen).

He raises the rifle, points it at Zaim and says:

– This is for the honor you took from my daughter and emptied it twice. Zaim died on the spot.

– You, he turned to Ndue, I am not killing you like the village gossip that you are, but God will take revenge. Indeed, “God” listened to the words of Dile’s father and after two or three months Ndue died in an accident.

Diles’ father, with a rifle in his hand, went and surrendered to the Internal Affairs Department, telling the whole story and Zaim’s perversity as the disgusting man of the area.

With that, Zaimi, the all-powerful State Security officer, paid for his sins against the innocent village girls by taking a bullet in the neck. Like that meaningful expression from the movie “And One Day Comes” meaning, one day comes and you pay for the dirty deeds you have done.

But, dear reader, this is also relative because with the advent of democracy, many Sigurimi officers who had convicted innocent people and had blood on their hands, occupied key positions in democracy. This is attributed to the fact that they, knowing a lot and having in their hands documents of their collaborators, put pressure on them not only not to convict them, but also to give them positions even in the administration of the “People’s Advocate”. This is where that other expression comes in: “Do as I say, otherwise I will speak!”
