SP MP Gjuzi criticizes the protest: They are disrupting our tourism business

Socialist Party MP Ilva Gjuzi stated that the protests launched against the project in Zvërnec have deviated from their initial goal and no longer present a clear narrative.

For him, protest remains a legitimate democratic instrument, but requires dialogue between the parties to bring concrete results.

According to Gjuzi, the government has the responsibility to listen to citizens’ concerns and create spaces for communication, although dialogue cannot take place without the will of all parties involved.

The MP said that she had initially followed the protests with interest due to the debate over the planned investment in the Zvërnec area, but assessed that over time their focus has faded.

She argued that the discussion should remain focused on the project and its impact, relying on facts and proposals for improving the investment vision.

At the same time, Gjuzi expressed concern that the protests are taking place at the height of the tourist season, assessing that this could have consequences for the tourism sector and the income it generates for the country.

Asked about claims that there are instructions from the government to attack influencers who support the protests, the MP categorically denied them.

“If there are any, let them tell me, because so far I have not heard of any such instructions,” she said.
