With the start of the summer tourist season, the State Police has implemented a plan of measures to ease traffic and increase road safety during the summer months.
From June 16 to September 15, the circulation of heavy goods vehicles will be restricted during weekends and official holidays.
The restrictions apply to goods transport vehicles with a maximum authorized mass of over 7.5 tons, vehicles with a length of over 12 meters, low-speed agricultural and technological machinery, as well as for driving schools on designated road axes.
According to the plan of measures, the Traffic Police will be present 24 hours a day on national roads, tourist areas and border points, using drones, radars, alcohol testers and other intelligent devices to monitor traffic and prevent accidents.
Authorities emphasize that the measures aim to avoid congestion on roads leading to tourist areas during the influx of vacationers, while vehicles performing emergency services and transporting essential goods will be exempt from the restrictions, according to the cases provided for in the instructions.
