“The PS should find the strength to cleanse itself”/ The Socialist of Shkodra responds to Spiropali: It would be fair to start with you

Mirela Dodaj has commented on the statement of former Speaker of the Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, who a day earlier asked Prime Minister Rama to undertake a self-cleansing action within the party’s ranks.

Dodaj, through a post on her Facebook network, states that self-purification must first start with Spiropali, reminding him that for years he has been one of the most privileged figures in the SP.

“Elisa Spiropali,

When you talk about meritocracy, democracy, and self-purification, it seems like you’re talking about a party where you’ve never been part of the decision-making. The truth is quite different.

For years you have been among the most privileged figures in the Socialist Party. Therefore, it is difficult to understand who your call for self-purification is directed at. Others or yourself?

I fully support the government of Edi Rama and the reforms that have moved Albania forward, even in moments when it has been easier to shout than to take responsibility. For this very reason, I believe that no one should behave today as a judge of others, as it has been an inseparable part of every process, every decision-making and every problem that today seeks to denounce.

If a process of self-purification really needs to begin in the Socialist Party, then it would be fair to start with you, Elisa Spiropali.

“Because before you hold others accountable, you must hold yourself accountable,” writes Mirela Dodaj.

“To achieve this, the Socialist Party needs to find the strength, gather its wits, purify itself, become more dynamic, more democratic, more compact, to remain always young, always clean, without filth, without rust, without wrestling,” was Spiropali’s reaction the day before.
