US President Donald Trump warned on Thursday that the US would hit Iran “very hard” tonight, as the two countries exchange fire and peace talks stall.
“The United States will hit Iran (whose Navy, Air Force, Radar, Anti-Aircraft, and all other forms of Defense, along with most of its offensive capabilities, are gone!), VERY HARD TONIGHT,” he wrote in a post on Truth Social.
Trump also said the US would take over Kharg Island and other oil infrastructure. The small island in the Persian Gulf handles roughly 90% of the country’s crude oil exports.
“At some point in the not-too-distant future, we will take Kharg Island and other oil infrastructure points, and take full control of their oil and gas markets, just as we did with Venezuela, which is working out great for both Venezuela and the United States of America,” he added.
