A Turkish citizen who was wanted by the justice system of the neighboring country was arrested today by the Saranda Border Police, after it turns out that she was convicted of the criminal offenses of “Providing logistical support to a terrorist organization” and “Participation in terrorist groups”. Meanwhile, it is reported that the extraditions of two Albanians, who have been convicted by local authorities, have been successfully carried out.

Media sources indicate that the citizen in question is identified as Julide Yazici, who has been sentenced to 4 years and two months in prison after being accused of providing logistical assistance to a terrorist organization and participating in terrorist groups.

It is hereby announced that Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with international partners, has made possible the extradition of two Albanian citizens from foreign countries to our country.

Specifically, it concerns the extradition from the United Kingdom of the citizen identified as Kostandino Tahiri, who turns out to have been sentenced by the Tirana Judicial District Court to 3 years in prison for the criminal offense of “Intentional serious injury”.

While the second case concerns the extradition from Athens of citizen Andrea Biti, who was reportedly sentenced by the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier to 8 months in prison for the criminal offense of “Theft”.

“As a result of close cooperation with foreign law enforcement authorities, the extradition of citizen Kostandino Tahiri (KT) from the United Kingdom to our country was carried out. This citizen was sentenced in 2021 by the Tirana Judicial District Court to 3 years in prison, for the criminal offense of “Intentional Serious Injury”. And from Greece, Athens, citizen Andrea Biti (AB) was extradited. He was sentenced in 2024 by the Fier Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction to 8 months in prison, for the criminal offense of “Theft”, official sources have informed the media.
