Zelensky’s statement on Kosovo, Ukrainian MP makes strong reaction

Ukrainian Parliament Member Oleksiy Goncharenko has reacted sharply to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement in Belgrade, where the latter reconfirmed that official Kiev will not change its position on not recognizing Kosovo’s independence.

Goncharenko, who is also the initiator of the bill for the recognition of Kosovo in the Ukrainian parliament, has described this approach as a “diplomatic mistake”, while on the social network X he has also published a photo from Pristina showing the removal of the slogan “Free Ukraine” from the “Hotel Grand”.

Despite the executive’s stance, he stressed that the Ukrainian people support Kosovo’s independence and pledged to continue the political battle until Ukraine officially recognizes the state of Kosovo.

“This is a diplomatic mistake. Ukrainians support Kosovo’s independence and we believe that Ukraine MUST recognize the state. I will continue to fight for Kosovo’s independence and eventually Ukraine will recognize it,” the MP writes.
