New details have emerged from the investigation into the murder of 20-year-old Johan Zuko in Korça. The perpetrator, Kristjan Sterjo, who was caught after about 6 hours on the run, has given his testimony before the investigation group regarding the motive for the serious incident. According to his testimony, the conflict between the two young men was related to several previous episodes, while one of the causes that is suspected of having led to the escalation of the situation was the harassment of the girlfriend of the suspected perpetrator.
But, in addition to this conflict, investigators are also considering previous clashes between the two young men, who allegedly had arguments over claims of who was the “strongest” in the neighborhood. According to the data from the investigation so far, the suspected perpetrator and the victim had been in a verbal conflict several days before the incident. It is suspected that both parties had clashed and harassed each other, causing the relationship between them to escalate.
The situation would then take on another dimension. According to the author’s testimony, on the day of the incident, he took the gun and went after the 20-year-old, shooting him in the back with a bullet, which proved fatal for Johan Zuko’s life.
The conflict, which allegedly started for weak motives, starting from claims about who was considered the “strong” of the neighborhood, was then accompanied by constant harassment, insults and clashes between the two young men. The clash ended tragically with the murder of 20-year-old Johan Zuko, while Kristjan Sterjo left the scene and was arrested about 6 hours later by the Police forces, near his apartment. Sterjo was hiding in an area near the city cemetery, but he left there to approach the apartment. It was at this moment that the police spotted him and immediately intervened to capture him.
