Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced that the fire situation in Kruja is under control, while only one isolated hearth continues to be active on the top of Mount Kruja.
Through a Facebook post, Rama praised the commitment of Air Force pilots, Fire Protection and Rescue personnel, as well as special forces of the army and Police, who were engaged in operations to combat the flames.
According to the Prime Minister, emergency structures have been working non-stop to protect the residents of Kruja, while firefighting operations have also been extended to Kamëz, Tirana and Vora.
“Deep gratitude and respect for the Air Force pilots, Fire Protection and Rescue personnel, as well as the special forces of the army and police, who protected the lives of the residents of Kruja amidst the flames,” Rama writes.
In his post, Rama also published a message from a citizen from Kruja, who has been living in Belgium for 30 years. The citizen expressed his gratitude for the intervention of the authorities and especially for the air support during the firefighting operation.
