An unusual event has been recorded in Gliwice, Poland, where a 60-year-old farmer has been arrested after allegedly destroying about 200 meters of newly paved asphalt with a tractor.
According to the Police, the 60-year-old went with his tractor to “Rybacka” Street, in Ostropa, and drove the plow over the new asphalt.
Local authorities have estimated the damage at around 400,000 zlotys, or approximately 93,000 euros.
The farmer claimed that he was the owner of the road and that the works being carried out there were illegal. After the incident, he was arrested by the Police.
The prosecution accuses him of destroying property of considerable value and has requested a three-month detention order.
If convicted, the 60-year-old faces a sentence of one to ten years in prison.
