The prosecution has expanded the investigation following the knife attack on Denis Bajri in the Fier prison. As part of the investigation, the institution’s entry and exit books have been seized, while the focus is on the meetings between Denis Bajri, Aldo Gjini and Jurgen Zoto in recent months.
In parallel, footage from the security cameras of the Fier prison was also taken, to verify the movements of the parties, as well as the actions of the officials and agents planned to guarantee security in the internal regime.
Jurgen Zoto, in the presence of Aldo Gjin, attacked Denis Bajri with an improvised knife. During the fight, Bajri and Zoto received injuries to their bodies and both were transported to the hospital for medical assistance.
Following the incident, the General Directorate of Prisons is analyzing all security elements in the Fier prison. Meanwhile, 8 Prison Police officers have been suspended from duty and are being investigated for abuse of office.
Denis Bajri accuses his sworn opponent, the much-wanted Ibrahim Lici, of ordering the attack on him inside the Fier prison cell.
During his testimony before investigators, Bajri claimed that Jurgen Zoto attacked him on Lici’s orders, and even before attacking him, he had given him a phone to talk to Ibrahim Lici. The latter, according to Bajri, had threatened him with the words “this is how your life was.”
Denis Bajri, considered a high-risk person, is accused by SPAK of the murder of Gjin Ndoji. While Jurgen Zoto is being held in prison for robbery with violence and illegal possession of weapons.
After this event, it was decided for the three protagonists to be transferred to other prisons.
