Sad news came this Thursday from the city of Berat, where teacher and founder of the Socialist Party of Berat, Ymer Kordha, passed away at the age of 77.
The news was announced through an announcement on social media by the SP branch in the Berat District, which noted that Kordha was one of the first founders of the SP, where he also held the position of chairman for several years.
The former teacher has also held several important public positions, including for several years as Head of External Relations at the Berat District Council. Kordha has also contributed to the documentation and preservation of the history of the city of Berat.

Berat lost one of its most respected intellectuals today, Ymer Kordhen.
As a teacher, researcher and deep connoisseur of the history and cultural heritage of Berat, he contributed to the documentation and preservation of the city’s history, leaving his mark especially in the study of Dimal/Krotina.
Ymer Kordha has also held positions of public importance over the years, as Head of External Relations at the Berat District Council.
He will also be remembered as one of the founders of the Socialist Party in Berat, with prominent activity over the years and important tasks in the leadership of the Socialist Party. He documented the first moments of the creation of the Socialist Party and kept a complete archive of the meetings and characters that created it in Berat.
His contribution will remain part of the history and memory of Berat. Condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and all those who were lucky enough to know him.

Meanwhile, it is learned that Kordha was given his final farewell by family, friends and relatives this Thursday. It is reported that the funeral ceremony was held at 2:00 PM in the village of Slanicë, Berat.
