Another great loss for Albanian art, the famous Albanian actor and director passes away

Another great loss has come to Albanian art and culture. Osman Buzo, actor, director and one of the well-known names in the artistic life of Gjirokastra, passed away this Friday, leaving behind a long journey dedicated to the stage, culture and the preservation of civic memory.

For more than 40 years, Osman Buzo was part of the Puppet Theater in Gjirokastra, where he not only performed and staged works, but also directed this institution, making a valuable contribution to the artistic life of the city and to the cultural education of generations of children.

Buzo was not only a man of the stage. He was also a passionate chronicler, publicist and a deep connoisseur of the history and traditions of his region. He dedicated an important part of his work to Libohova, the birthplace that he always held close to his heart and about which he wrote, spoke and worked with dedication over the years.

Through his writings and memoirs, he brought to attention the people, events, history and traditions of Libohova and Gjirokastra, leaving a precious testimony to a wealth that should not be lost in oblivion. He was one of those people who were not satisfied with just what they received from the place where they were born, but tried to give something back to it through work, knowledge and love for their homeland.

Libohova will accompany one of her sons to his final resting place, a man who for decades devoted time and passion to history, culture and its values. And one of his last wills was to be laid to rest in his birthplace.
