A photo taken at **”Vajza Fest”**, in the village of Vajza in Selenica, is taking on a significance that goes far beyond a festive evening. In the same setting appear Prime Minister **Edi Rama**, the head of the Supreme Court **Sokol Sadushi**, former president **Bamir Topi** and other public figures.
But the photo comes at a time when developments in recent days make it almost impossible for it to be read as just a chance encounter at a party.
Just a few days ago, Rama was photographed having dinner with **Alex Soros** in Dhërmi. The meeting took place during the prime minister’s stay in the south, and footage of Soros at the government residence was later published in the media.
And it was after this meeting that a much stronger backstory began to circulate.
According to a report by Timoni.al, citing sources close to the Prime Minister’s Office, one of the issues discussed between Alex Soros and Edi Rama was precisely **Erion Veliaj**. Media sources claim that Soros has asked Rama to consider the possibility of releasing Veliaj and his return to the political scene. According to the same report, Rama has responded that he cannot interfere in the decisions of the judiciary. So far, there has been no public confirmation from Rama, Soros or other institutions about the alleged content of this conversation.
It is here that the photograph of the Girl takes on a completely different political meaning.
Just a few days after the meeting with Soros, Rama appears publicly at an event attended by **Sokol Sadushi**, the head of the institution that has a key role in the judicial system and at a moment when the legal battle for the security measure against Veliaj continues to be one of the most controversial issues in Albanian justice.
No one can claim that a photograph proves interference in justice. But **in politics, not every message is given by statement**.
And the chronology is what fuels the questions:
Rama meets with Alex Soros. It is then reported, without official confirmation, that one of the demands discussed was the release of Erion Veliaj. Just a few days later, the prime minister appears publicly at the same party with the head of the Supreme Court.
For government critics, this image can be read as a coded message: **Rama is showing that the first demand that came from the table with Soros has already been put on the political agenda.**
Not necessarily through an order and not necessarily through direct intervention, for which there is no evidence, but through creating the perception that the Veliaj issue has returned to the center of attention of the government.
This perception is also reinforced by the fact that Rama himself has previously publicly come out in favor of a more lenient measure against Veliaj. Commenting on his trial, the prime minister has stated that he would consider it normal for Veliaj to be released and the trial to continue at large, describing the situation created in Tirana as an “absurd stalemate.”
So, the demand that Soros allegedly raised in Dhërmi would not find Rama in a politically adverse position. On the contrary, the prime minister had previously publicly articulated a position in favor of the release of the mayor of Tirana.
This is why the photo with Sadushi becomes even more sensitive.
If the meeting with Soros were an isolated episode, the photo in Vajzë could pass as a completely normal protocol or social moment. But when the two episodes are placed next to each other, and between them appears the claim that **Veliaj was one of the topics of the Rama-Soros table**, then a political sequence is created that is difficult to pass without raising questions.
Even other media outlets that analyzed the Rama-Soros meeting linked it to expected political developments, the prime minister’s relations with the Soros network, and the changes expected in the coming months, although these remain political analyses and interpretations.
All this is happening while Albania has been facing **large fires** in recent days, with firefighters, army forces, and residents battling the flames in several regions of the country.
The contrast is stark: while one part of the country faces the emergency, in the south politics holds meetings, dinners, and parties that produce other messages.
But this time the main question is not who was at the party.
The question is different:
**Is the Rama-Sadushi photo simply a social coincidence, or a political signal just days after Alex Soros, according to unconfirmed reports, asked the prime minister for the release of Erion Veliaj?**
There is no evidence today that Rama has interfered in any judicial decision, and the report itself on the conversation with Soros says that the prime minister has stated that he does not interfere in justice.
But in politics, perception is often built before the decision.
And if in the coming days or weeks there is a new development in favor of Veliaj, then the photographs of these days — **first Rama with Soros and then Rama in the same environment with Sadushi** — will inevitably return to the center of the debate.
Because in this case a much stronger question would arise:
**Was the Girl’s photo just a village celebration, or the message that the first request of the Dhërmi table had begun to take hold?**
