A serious incident occurred in the city of Vlora in the early hours of the morning, where the “Brooklyn” hotel on Lungomare was engulfed in flames.
The incident occurred around 04:00, as the flames initially started in a bar on the first floor of the building, and then quickly spread to the second floor, where the hotel was located.
It is suspected that the fire started in the bar-restaurant premises, from a three-pronged outlet where two refrigerators were connected.
According to the police report, an electrical overload caused the flames, which then spread rapidly throughout the bar and the hotel floor.
As a result, six people were injured. 5 of the injured are citizens of Kosovo, while one is from Rrëshen
The injured are mainly young people, between the ages of 20 and 30.
According to the data, they are: Ndorina Rexhepi, 25 years old, Arlinda Rexhepi, 27 years old, Erza Grainca, 21 years old, Aldo Kasimi, 30 years old, Ana Dyrmishi, 25 years old, Luan Saliu, 21 years old.
Initially, they received first aid at the Vlora Hospital, while five of them were sent to Tirana to receive more specialized medical assistance.
The Head of Resuscitation at Vlora Hospital, Edmond Breshanaj, said during a statement to the media that two people have been sent to Trauma, three to the burns department at the QSUT, while one of the injured is being treated in the Surgery ward of Vlora Hospital.
He further added that a girl is in serious condition, having suffered burns to almost 100% of her body surface.

Luan Salihu, 21 years old, is one of the people who was injured as a result of the fire at the “Brooklyn” hotel in Vlora.
During a statement to the media, Salihu recounted the moments when he realized that the hotel they were staying in was engulfed in flames.
He said it was 4 a.m. when he and his fiancée noticed smoke. After that, they jumped from the balcony, but he injured his leg during the fall.
“I’m from Lipjan. We were asleep, 3 o’clock, almost 4. Screaming, my fiancée woke up first, she told me to get up because I don’t know what happened. We got up to go out the door, there was smoke, smoke came in. We went out the balcony, there was flames and smoke, there was a shield, we climbed on top of it and jumped down. We weren’t hurt by the burn, when I jumped I fell on the iron corner and broke my leg. I saw a family with a small child and a man. It was the second day in the hotel,” says Salihu.

A Polish vacationer has described the moment they realized that a fire had broken out at the Brooklyn Hotel where they were staying. Speaking to the media, the vacationer said they smelled something strange during the night and heard screaming.
He further added that to escape the flames, he jumped out of the window and called for help. According to him, the incident occurred around 4 am.
“We woke up at night, smelled something strange, heard screaming. We jumped out the window, called for help. That’s it. I’m from Poland. It was around 4 in the morning ,” the boy says.
