The Special Court has decided to continue the security measure imposed in absentia against the 31-year-old recently extradited from Britain, Xhuliano Hoxha, on charges of being part of the criminal group that cultivated 870 kg of cannabis in Dronovicë, Berat, while the operation was carried out in November 2022.
Before Judge Bib Ndreca and Prosecutor Ewida Kaçkini, Hoxha did not present any claims in court, while he was defended by state-appointed lawyer Arben Peçi.
Hoxha was arrested in England in October last year, while last April the GJKKO had also sentenced him to prison.
During the operation, 105 people were arrested, 95 of whom were women who were employed to clean the hashish. The greenhouse was owned by Hamdi Dyl, which was divided into 4 parts, each with an area of 2 dunyam. 11 people were arrested, while 57 Berat police officers were also put under investigation, including senior managers. 7 employees were permanently expelled from the ranks of the blues.
The Berat Prosecution declared incompetence and transferred the file to SPAK, saying that the activity was led by 2 criminal groups. A few months ago, the GJKKO sentenced 17 people to 111 years and 8 months in prison, the highest being for the 2 leaders of the criminal group, Sadetin Hasaj and Blerim Xheka, who were sentenced to 8 years and 8 months in prison each.
