MALISHEVĆ – The serious incident shocked the village of Kërvasari, where 25-year-old Jetlira Foniqi lost her life in the eighth month of pregnancy as a result of gunshot wounds, while her husband, 26-year-old Egzon Bytyqi, is seriously injured and is being treated at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo.
Regarding the serious incident, the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjakova has announced that, according to initial data, Jetlira Foniqi Bytyqi, the suspect’s wife, died at the UCCK as a result of gunshot wounds.
Meanwhile, Egzon Bytyqi, who is the suspect in this case, also suffered serious gunshot wounds and was sent for medical treatment.
According to the UCCK announcement, his health condition continues to be serious and critical for life.
The State Prosecutor went to the scene, and by his order the victim’s body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Pristina for an autopsy.
The prosecution has announced that the case has been initiated for the criminal offenses of “Aggravated Murder” and “Unauthorized Ownership, Control or Possession of Weapons.”
According to information provided by the media in Kosovo, Bytyqi is suspected of using his father’s gun, which he had with permission.
The incident occurred in the couple’s bedroom, where according to initial reports, both spouses were found injured. They were initially treated in Malisheva, and then taken to the UCCK in Pristina.
Jetlira did not survive her injuries. At around 01:10, the UCCK Emergency Department announced her death.
Egzon Bytyqi is reported to have worked for about seven years in Germany and had returned to Kosovo about a month before the incident.
Sources have claimed that he had health problems, including mental health issues.
Further investigations are expected to fully clarify what happened inside the couple’s home.
