A serious incident occurred in Uraka i Mati, where at midnight a vehicle parked near a house was shot with a hail of bullets.
According to preliminary data, the owners of the apartment and vehicle had just returned from Italy, but fortunately escaped the bullets without injury.
After the shooting, residents of the area immediately notified the police, and about 30 shell casings were found at the scene.
This Sunday morning, in the village of Urake, a vehicle suspected to belong to the perpetrators of the attack was found burned. It is not yet known whether the family that was attacked had previous problems, while investigations to clarify the incident and identify the perpetrators continue.
On 12.09.2026, at around 23:10, in the village of Urakë, Rukaj Administrative Unit, Mat Municipality, unidentified persons fired a gun at an “Audi” vehicle, owned by citizen S. Ll. (wife of citizen A. Ll.), parked in the yard of the apartment.
The shooting caused material damage only to the Audi vehicle.
Upon receiving the notification, the Police Services immediately went to the scene and, in cooperation with the Dibër Police Department, set up checkpoints.
Meanwhile, the investigation team went to the scene.
Police services, during a search of the territory, about 2 kilometers away from the scene of the incident, on the Rrëshen-Burrel road, found a burned-out “Golf V” vehicle. During the inspection of the vehicle, two partially burned Kalashnikov firearms were found inside, which were seized as material evidence.
From the verifications carried out, it results that the “Golf” type vehicle, found to be burned, was declared wanted by the Elbasan Police Department on 31.07.2025, after its owner, citizen KR, resident of Përrenjas, had filed a report that this vehicle had been stolen.
Police services are continuing checks in the area where the suspected perpetrators may have moved and are cooperating with the Tirana, Lezhë and Kukës DVPs.
The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, is intensively pursuing actions aimed at clarifying the circumstances and securing evidence that will lead to the identification and capture of the perpetrators.
