Two serious cases were registered in Berat and Maliq yesterday, where two people are suspected of having consumed dangerous substances.
One of them has lost his life, while the other is out of danger.
In Berat, at around 8:30 PM on August 11, 2026, a 38-year-old man with the initials IT died in hospital. According to the Police, he is suspected of having consumed pesticides in his apartment.
Meanwhile, in Maliq, at around 16:30, citizen M. Ç. is suspected of having, under the influence of alcohol, attempted to harm himself in a bar by consuming chemicals (thermometer mercury).
M.Ç. was transported to the Trauma Hospital, where he continues to be under the care of doctors and is reported to be out of danger.
