New information has come to light regarding the tragic accident recorded the day before in Ksamil, where 22-year-old Albiano Kreçi lost his life.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, around 18:30, in the Ksamil Bay area. According to preliminary data, the young man had been suffering from diabetes for years, a disease with which he had been diagnosed at the age of 15. It is learned that for about two years he had been regularly treated with insulin. Sources close to the investigation indicate that shortly before using the boat, the 22-year-old had taken a dose of insulin. According to health specialists, this factor may have affected his physical condition and ability to control the vehicle in the moments before the accident.
The footage of the incident, which has been published online, was filmed by a foreign sailboat that was anchored in the Bay of Ksamil. The video shows the moments of the collision with the Border Police vessel, an event that is being investigated to accurately determine the dynamics and responsibilities.
Meanwhile, the young man’s body has been transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Tirana, where relevant examinations will be carried out that are expected to help fully clarify the circumstances of the event.
Albiano Kreçi was the only son of the family and had two sisters. His loss has shocked family, friends and the community where he lived, while authorities continue their investigations to clarify every detail related to the fatal accident.
