A young Albanian man has been sentenced by court after being caught transporting around 100 kilograms of cannabis, with an estimated value of nearly 500 thousand euros on the illegal market.
During the trial, he stated that he had been involved in drug trafficking to provide money for his grandmother’s medical treatment, an explanation that left the jury astonished.
According to French media , the young man was stopped during a roadside check, where police discovered a large quantity of cannabis in his vehicle. Investigations revealed that he had agreed to transport the drugs in exchange for payment, becoming part of a drug trafficking network.
In the courtroom, he tried to justify his actions by saying that he urgently needed money to cover the costs of his grandmother’s treatment. However, the court considered that, despite the alleged family situation, this could not justify involvement in criminal activity of such a large scale.
In conclusion, the court found him guilty of transporting and trafficking narcotics, emphasizing that personal circumstances do not exclude criminal liability for such an offense.
