Former Shkodra director Gentian Berberi threatens the head of personnel, is suspended from duty

The former director of the Shkodra Police, Gentjan Berberi, has been suspended from duty and a disciplinary investigation has been launched against him.

A few days ago, Berberi was dismissed from his position as director of the Shkodra Police due to poor performance, after identifying and destroying several cannabis plots in the region.

After leaving office, he was appointed to the General Directorate of the State Police, in the Analysis sector.

According to sources, this Thursday, Berberi appeared at the office of the Director of Human Resources at the General Directorate of Police, where he is suspected of using offensive language and threatening the official due to his demotion.

Following the incident, the Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, has decided to immediately suspend Berber from duty, while the Directorate of Professional Standards has initiated disciplinary investigation procedures against him for the alleged behavior.

Meanwhile, the Human Resources Director has filed a criminal complaint with the Police Supervision Agency (AMP), accusing the former director of insults and threats made against her while in office.

The case is being verified by the AMP, while the full circumstances of the incident are awaited.
