According to preliminary information, the vehicle driven by the young man collided with a Saranda Border Police boat in the waters of the Gulf of Ksamil.
As a result of the collision, the 20-year-old man suffered serious injuries. He was urgently transported to the hospital by ambulance, but was unable to survive his injuries and passed away. “Around 18:30, in Ksamil, a 22-year-old citizen, resident of Ksamil, while sailing at sea on a jet ski type watercraft (watercraft), is suspected that, as a result of sailing at speed, he collided with the Border Police boat, which was stationed (stopped) about 400 meters from the coast, monitoring the maritime space. As a result of the collision, the driver of the watercraft was injured, who was immediately pulled out of the sea by Police officers and other watercraft drivers in the area, and was urgently transported to the hospital, but, as a result of the injuries sustained, he lost his life,” the police statement said.
